Our Leadership

Alan Mullen – President and CEO

Alan has over 30 years of experience providing training to both commercial and military aviation professionals. He graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He began his career in aviation as a Navy Aviator and was a TOPGUN trained F/A -14 Tomcat pilot. After the Navy, Alan worked as a pilot for FedEx for 25 years.

In 1992, while working for FedEx, Alan founded Crew Training International, Inc. (CTI), which develops advanced training solutions for the Department of Defense, foreign governments, and corporate training programs. Having seen the effects of both very high-quality training and very poor training in the course of his long aviation career, Alan believes that top quality training is not only the most effective but, ultimately, achieves the best Return on Investment. Both CTI and CTI Professional Flight Training are built on the idea that a “total quality” approach improves all aspects of the training experience, from efficiency and customer satisfaction to employee morale and retention.
